Voluntary ecotourism mission in Bali

Visit some of the most beautiful islands in Indonesia on a sustainable tour visiting Red Island, Lombok, Nusa Lembongan and starting your trip in Canggu, Bali. A unique action packed tour including visits to the turtle sanctuary at Sukamade Beach, snorkelling with Manta Rays, helping local communities with English language and learning to surf. Imagine diving with giant Manta Rays, teaching local children english, and finishing up with a fresh local meal… all in one day.

Program

DAY 1: Canggu, Bali (Departs 3rd Thursday of every month) Arrive Bali – Transfer to Canggu Accommodation – private airport pick-up is included through the day, as well as local accommodation pickups in the Kuta/Canggu area. Please ensure you have submitted your flight itineraries or hotel accommodation location.

16:00 Welcome Orientation (Introductions, Itinerary, Dinner) Meet your Mojo Guide and Orca program leader, as well as all of the other crew for your trip!

18:00 Welcome Sunset Dinner & Drinks

DAY 2 : Day trip to Ubud, English lessons workshop

08:00 Breakfast & How to Give English Lessons workshop – Volunteer training workshops -> How To Give English Lessons – hosted by the ORCA365 guide. This is activity is to get us on track for our time in Pulau Merah aka Red Island!

10:30 Depart for Ubud Day Trip Ubud Day trip with visits to Tegalalang Rice Terrace, Kintmani village, plus views Batur and Lake Batur

18:00 Dinner in Ubud @ Local Warung

19:00 Return to Camp Canggu Accommodation

DAY 3 : Surf, Transfer to Red Island Camp

08:00 Early morning surf, then enjoy a quick cooked breakfast Mid-morning transfer to Pulau Merah (Red Island) We’ll be taking a packed lunch for the drive, and stopping along the way. At the mid-point of the trip we have a ferry transfer from Bali->East Java. Most ferries have snacks available onboard. If you’re hungry, just let us know and we’ll stop at any of the amazing warungs (small café/shops) along the way!

16:00 Arrive Red Island & Check-In to your accommodation!

17:00 Community meeting – Meet with local community members, and learn more about the true local culture. 18:00 Community Dinner – Dinner off-site in local Warung (Restaurant). Eat like a local, with the locals.

20:00 Beach Party @ Red Island w/ Local Music

DAY 4 : English training, Local Village Tour

09:00 Volunteer training -> Continuing English Language Training: Identifying student strengths + weaknesses. This is run by the NGO guides and accredited TEFL teacher

11:00 Local Village Tour -> Head out for a guided walk around the accommodation, and learn about the local businesses. We’ll point out all the basics you need to be super comfortable over the next few weeks such as the grocery store and clothing shops. We’ll also grab a fresh coconut or two to drink along the way!

16:00 English Lessons w/ Students at Red Island Camp. All English Lessons will be approximately 1.5-2hrs in duration. On the first day – expect to learn some of the local language! Your Program Leader is with you the whole time for support.

DAY 5 : G-Land tour 08:00 Breakfast 9:00 After breakfast, depart for G-Land Tour – Including Monkey Forest, Temple Photography, Animal Viewing Platform. Packed lunch provided on departure from camp. It’s a 2 hour drive with multiple stops along the way for photo opportunities. 15.00 Return from G-Land Tour 18:00 Evening English Lessons w/ Students after dinner @ Camp

DAY 6 : Surf lesson, Turtle Sanctuary tour

9:00 Morning Surf

13:00 Depart for Turtle Sanctuary Tour in the Sukamade Beach 4 wheel drives. Approx. 6 people per vehicle. We will split up into two vehicles if numbers are more than 6 – don’t worry though! If we’re taking 2 vehicles, 1 will have your guide, and another will have a familiar face (Surf Instructor or other staff member) from the camp!

17:00 Arrive Turtle Sanctuary **Overnight at sanctuary

DAY 7 : Turtle conservation, Transfer to Canggu

04:00 Turtle Sanctuary Viewing – Wake up early to meet with the rangers who will update you on the amazing conservation work they’re doing to help the threatened Sea Turtle. You can view turtles on beach before sunrise (Watch for turtle hatchings! It’s nature so there is no gurantee but very common to see them). We quite often have eggs and/or turtles in the refuge (again no gurantee because once they’re ready for release we let them go).

09:00 Transfer back to Red Island

12:00 Arrive Red IslandDay Includes 4 wheel drive tour/transfers, Warung meals, and guesthouse accommodation. Wifi access is limited – some mobile phone companies will have reception, but some please consider this day as mostly “Off The Grid.” staff will have access to phonelines in case of emergency.

DAY 8 : Transfer to Canggu Early breakfast at Red Island then depart to Canggu. Today we will have lunch on the road and then relax by the pool at Canggu for the afternoon before heading out to experience Canggu nightlife and a social dinner. 

DAY 9 : Transfer to Nusa Lembongan

Today we are heading over to the tropical island of Nusa Lembongan by fast ferry.

DAY 10 : Transfer to Nusa Lembongan

DAY 11 : Surf lesson or massage, Transfer back to Canggu

Breakfast in Nusa Lembongan then surf or swap for massage, lunch and then transfer back to Canggu at 4pm.

Dinner will be in Canggu tonight and another chance to enjoy the hip and happening nightlife of this cool surf village.

DAY 12 : Transfer to Lombok

Morning transfer from Canggu to Lombok via boat

Lunch is on your own today – but there will be time to get lunch before the boat departure
